Kershaw Black Horse II 1060ST Serrated Folding Knife
Hunters need a good knife with which to cut, slice and chop their way through obstacles during an outdoor adventure. Yet, it can be tough to safely carry a knife that doesn’t fold down. The Black Horse II Knife from Kershaw is a great, sturdy knife that works well as a pocket knife too. It features a spring loaded release so you can easily fold the knife down when you are done using it. Plus, the lock helps hold the blade in place when it’s fully deployed. In addition, the co-polymer handle is very ergonomic featuring a ‘handprint’ design. The handle will fit comfortably in your hand when in use and will cut down on strain. The knife is about 7 ½ inches overall when fully opened. It is a good weight at about 4.6 inches. Plus, this knife comes with a handy nylon sheath so you can carry the Black Horse II anywhere you go.

8CR13MOV Stainless Steel - Many knife enthusiasts will have heard that 8CR13MoV stainless is the equivalent of AUS8A. And it’s true. For everyday use, even a serious knife enthusiast would be hard-pressed to tell the difference between a well-made 8CR13MoV blade and a well-made AUS8A blade. Yet there are slight differences in the steel formula. While most other components are relatively equal, 8CR13MoV has slightly more carbon for hardness and wear resistance and slightly less nickel. The key to blade performance for both of these steels is manufacturing quality. That’s where Kershaw’s expertise comes in. Kershaw precision heat-treats 8CR13MoV steel to bring out its best high-performance characteristics—the ability to take and hold an edge, strength, and hardness.
